Queen One Studios was recently featured in The Globe and Mail in an article exploring how generative AI is changing the advertising industry and how brands are navigating the opportunities and challenges that come with it.

The article, written by Joe Castaldo, looks at how advertising agencies and production companies are incorporating AI into their workflows, from early concept development and pre-production to fully AI-generated commercials.

Queen One Studios co-founders Ryan Patterson and Alana Robshaw were highlighted for their work using generative AI in advertising and television production, including creating documentary re-enactments and AI-powered animatics that help agencies visualize commercials before they go into production.

Ryan spoke about how AI is making the pre-production process more effective, allowing clients to see realistic performances, characters and emotions before committing to a live-action shoot.

“The beauty of using AI is you can get realistic-looking actors in the scenes with consistent characters, and show those emotions. It’s easier for the client to understand how a spot is going to land.”

The article also explores the industry's mixed feelings toward AI-generated advertising, including concerns about audience reception, creative quality and the potential impact on traditional production.

For us at Queen One Studios, it's exciting to be part of this evolving industry and to see how AI is opening up new possibilities for filmmakers, agencies and brands alike.
